CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS – George Russell (Russ) Enlow, 91, of 28315 Henry Road,
Cambridge Springs, died at Meadville Medical Center Saturday, September 30, 2006.
Born in Donora, Washington County, Pennsylvania June 9, 1915, he was a son of Benson Campbell and Idesta Roberta (Danley) Enlow. He married Mildred Isabelle Vincent October 21, 1939, and had lived in Rockdale Township since 1946.
A graduate of Cochranton High School in 1933, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1937. Russ worked at the Talon in Meadville between 1941 and 1942, then for the Erie Railroad between 1942 and 1946. In April 1946 he went to work for the Pennsylvania Game Commission where he retired as Superintendent of the Western Game Farm, Rockdale Township in 1977.
Russ, is survived by a son, Leonard Ray Enlow, and his wife, Karen, of Corona, Calif.; a
daughter, Nancy Lee Hindle, and her husband, Joseph, of Saegertown; a son, Dale Edward Enlow and his wife, Patricia, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and a son, Jeffrey Scott Enlow, and his wife, Kathryn, of Cochranton. Eight grandchildren also survive him: Steven Douglas Enlow, Christina Matlack, Michelle Briscoe of California; Marnie Boring, Melissa Hindle-Sherman of Pennsylvania; Julian Enlow of Arizona; Lt. Jesse Enlow of Ohio; and Vincent Enlow of Arizona. In addition, 11 great-grandchildren survive him: Eric Enlow, Katie Enlow, Beth Enlow, Kyle
Matlack, Ryan Matlack, Colby Briscoe, Conor Briscoe and Nicole Briscoe, all of California; Chandler Carey, Emma Carey, and Kylie Boring of Meadville. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Basile of Meadville, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mildred Isabelle Vincent, who passed away in October 2004, four sisters, Martha Romane Enlow, Mary Ellen Enlow, Edna Mae Enlow, Etta Adel Marley, and two brothers, John Elliot Enlow, and Charles Edward Enlow.
Russell , as he was known by his friends, will always be remembered as a quiet and loyal family man who greatly enjoyed the out of doors. His large and extended family will miss the generous smile of a true “gentle-man”.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital. Age 77 years. Ruby A. Dietrick was born January 4, 1930, in Bergoo, West Virginia. She married James H. Vincent, February 6, 1954. He survives her. She is also survived by two children, James L. Vincent and his wife, Donna, Sammamish, WA; Brenda S. Vincent, Clinton Township, MI; her beloved three grandsons, Jeffrey, Kevin and Daniel. In accordance with Mrs. Vincent's wishes, cremation has taken place.

COCHRANTON Elizabeth Virginia Basile, 82, of 2288 State Highway 173, Cochranton, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at home.
Elizabeth was born in Brownsville July 31, 1925, a daughter of the late Benson and Idesta Enlow. On Aug. 29, 1987, Elizabeth married Pasquale T. Basile; he preceded her in death Dec. 9, 2001. She previously had been married to Donald Lee VanVolkenburg, who preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1976.
After several years of service, Elizabeth retired from Meadville Medical Center as a supervisor. A graduate of Conneautville High School, she continued her education and
graduated in 1952 from the former Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing, where she went on to be an instructor for many years.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Meadville, Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary and the Meadville Woman’s Club, where she was chairperson of the Gardening Committee. Her hobbies included reading, working in the yard and working with her flowers, especially roses. She will be remembered for her love of her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by a son, Mark Lee VanVolkenburg and his wife, Lori, of West Palm Beach, Flordia, USA.; a daughter, Donna Johnston and her husband, Craig, of Cochranton,
with whom she lived; and four grandchildren, Brandon Beck, Elizabeth Beck, Alex Johnston and Erin Johnston.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by several siblings
including a brother, Russell Enlow, and a sister, Etta Marley.

Thursday, Sept. 8, 1988, at Wesbury following a lengthy illness. She was born in Claysville Aug. 11, 1906, a daughter of Benson and Idesta Danley Enlow.
She was a retired layout artist for The Express News, San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Patrick (Elizabeth) Van Volkenburg Basile, Meadville; Mrs. Robert (Etta) Marley, Meadville; a brother, George Russell Enlow, Cambridge Springs; three nieces and five nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family officiated by the Rev. Thomas H. Funka, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. Roofner-Collins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The' family asks that memorials are made to Grace United Methodist Church.

She was twice married, first to William H. Lobins Sr. on March 23, 1946; he preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1966. She then married Donald C. Smith May 1, 1970 in Conneaut Lake; he preceded her in death July 23, 2001.Mrs. Smith formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs.She was a graduate of Cochranton High School.She retired as a telephone operator from Bell Telephone Company in Meadville in 1985 after over 30 years of service.She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.Surviving is a son, William H. Lobins Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Martinsburg.In addition to William H. Lobins Sr. and Donald C. Donald C. Smith
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS - Donald C. Smith, 70, of 28249 Henry Road, Cambridge Springs, died at his residence Monday, July 23, 2001, following a nine-month illness. He had lived at Cambridge Springs since 1995, moving there from Westlake, Ohio.
He was born Nov. 13, 1930, a son of John and Martha Smith. He married Winifred Vincent Lobins May 2, 1970.
For more than 50 years he was self-employed as a painting contractor, retiring in 1995.
A member of Cambridge Springs American Legion Post 473, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 31 years, include a stepson, William H. Lobins and his wife, Rebecca, of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Alice B. Croner of Linesville and Nancy Vickodil of Aliquippa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith; and two sisters. Edith Irons and Rosabel Vickodil.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rod Beardsley of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church officiating.

For more than 50 years he was self-employed as a painting contractor, retiring in 1995.
A member of Cambridge Springs American Legion Post 473, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 31 years, include a stepson, William H. Lobins and his wife, Rebecca, of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Alice B. Croner of Linesville and Nancy Vickodil of Aliquippa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith; and two sisters. Edith Irons and Rosabel Vickodil.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rod Beardsley of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church officiating.
Cremation will follow.
